\u201cWhen the energy crisis began to shake Europe, we decided to respond promptly to the state of emergency and launched our own Energy Saving Programme in October. We made energy saving a key guiding factor because we wanted to help Finland through the tough winter on the energy market and do our bit to help curb the sharp rise in energy costs.<\/p>\n

Whereas our normal energy efficiency goal has been a saving of around 1% a year, we set the goal of our energy savings programme to reduce energy use in our properties by a total of around 5%. This is not particularly easy because we have been addressing energy efficiency for years and have been signatories to energy efficiency agreements since back in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

We achieved good results and almost 10,000 energy saving ideas.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Our own experts and service providers started implementing the saving programme immediately. Our clients, too, understood the importance of saving energy. We achieved good results already during the winter and received almost 10,000 energy saving ideas. It has been great to see how important everyone has considered energy saving even though at the same time many have had their hands full with working on preparedness tasks, for example.<\/p>\n

We also cooperate with central government\u2019s Down a degree campaign. We also introduced measures at exceptional capacity and speed to affect indoor temperatures. The Energy Savings Programme also included development projects such as an energy review and demand-side management solutions.<\/p>\n

Our Energy Saving Programme has taken into account good indoor conditions and the satisfaction of our clients. We have tailored energy saving measures for each property. Of course, we will not reach the same results everywhere and we may have increased the energy need in critically important properties.<\/p>\n

Our Energy Saving Programme will end at the end of 2023. We have identified many really good solutions to reduce energy consumption while ensure good working conditions. Many energy saving measures have already become part of our normal way of working. In that sense, it is easy to continue our journey towards an increasingly more energy efficient Senate Properties.<\/p>\n
