Senate Properties sold the Russian Consulate General Building in Turku to the City of Turku
On 13 December 2023, Senate Properties and the City of Turku signed a property transaction concerning the property that served as the Consulate General of Russia in Turku. The property at Vartiovuorenkatu 2 was transferred to the ownership of the City of Turku for €1.6 million. The City of Turku acquired the property to meet the needs of developing the service network.
“Negotiations on the property transaction progressed rapidly with the city and it is great that the currently vacant property will be put to new use and will be able to serve Turku residents as part of the city’s service network,” says Marko Härkönen, Director, Real Estate Development and Sales at Senate Properties.
Located between Vartiovuorenpuisto Park and Luostarinmäki Museum Quarter, the former Russian Consulate General property stands on a site of 3,500 m2. The property transaction also includes the consulate building which was completed in 1974 and has a floor area of around 2,000 m2.
